Possibly some good news today, as I was watching the game this afternoon, I noticed that the Whitey Herzog patch looked a little different, and after trying to get a good look at it for 9 innings, it seems that the patch might now be an embroidered/stitched patch, instead of the ironed on vinyl type material.
It was very hard to tell on the broadcast. I grabbed a couple screenshots and got a picture from the Cardinals instagram, see below, and even still it’s hard to really tell.
I’ll be scouring through some more professional game photos in the coming days to see if I can come up with some detailed shots. In the meantime, I reached out to the Cardinals Creative Services department today asking if there was a change. Hopefully this coming week I’ll have an update for you on this.
