Reposting the lead from Uni-Watch this morning..
Yes the Nike rollout has been disastrous, the worst is behind us, there’s no way this could get worse. Wait! It gets worse!
The gray shirts are a different color than the gray pants. Anyone else hearing circus music continually playing in their head?
Photos below stolen from Paul Lukas at Uni-Watch

And here it is graphically! I took a couple eyedropper samples from the Carlson photo and the Burleson photo because they are standing in good light. It appears the shirts are more of a blue-green hue, and the pants are more of a magenta-purple hue, especially when analyzing the colors of the eyedropper.

The entire uniform set looks like something you would order on AliExpress for $40 and still be pissed when it arrives. No joke, the local High School team has uniforms that look higher quality and are more aesthetically pleasing than these. With all 30 teams the new uniform changes are noticeable, but none are as offensive or as big of a step back as what has been done to the Cardinals.
Having played ball in 100% polyester uniforms during July, and having sat in the bleachers at both Busch Memorial and Busch III on sweltering hot days, I understand the desire for lighter and more breathable uniforms. I really, REALLY do. But isn’t part of getting to be a Major Leaguer the pride that comes from wearing that uniform? Is 11% more breathable material (or whatever is it) worth making teams look like a cheap slow pitch softball team? I honestly thought the last iteration of the Majestic jerseys was a great balance of durability and weight. It was far more breathable, lighter, and cooler than the standard turn of the century Rawlings-made jerseys. Any thinner, and you’re looking at, well … as Paul Lukas pointed out, a paper towel.
I am convinced that MLB and Nike knew these uniforms were shit way before Spring Training, or at the very least knew they were not going to be received well by anyone not being paid by Nike. You would think a company with a lucrative uniform manufacturing contract that has supposedly developed the “Best Material For Player Comfort And Style” would be excited to show off their work. There was no public soft launch during the offseason. There was no “New Nike Uniforms!” ads on MLB.com. There wasn’t even a propaganda hype video! They had how many years to get it right, and they fucked it up this badly? It feels like someone trying to write a term paper they have had all semester to work on in one night.
