Nike Doesn’t Deliver Alternate Uniforms

For the 3rd consecutive season, the Cardinals have started the season without their alternate uniforms. The team’s identity has 4 uniforms, White for home, Gray for road, Cream alternates for Home Saturday, and Victory Blue alternates for Road Saturdays. This past Saturday, March 30th in Los Angeles, the Cardinals wore their gray uniforms instead of blue.

Why? Because Nike didn’t have the entire set of uniforms ready. And again, this is the third consecutive season that Nike has failed to produce the full range of uniforms that fulfills the Cardinals brand. In 2023 the blue alternates weren’t worn until April 22nd, and in 2022 the blue alternates weren’t worn until May 7th. And we’ve now skipped the first road Saturday blue uniform opportunity in 2024.

Maybe the 4+1 rule has to do with Nike and Fanatics inability to produce jerseys at a professional major league level, so they put mandates on every team not because they’re “streamlining” or because of some branding or identity things. It’s because they are both inept and incapable.
