Yesterday May 18, 2024, after waiting for over a month and a half, the Cardinals finally wore their Saturday alternate uniforms. I got a few screenshots from early in the game and was prepared to just talk about those. But I got a text from a buddy with a picture of Masyn Winn’s jersey hanging in his locker, and there’s a few weird quirks about this new Nike template for our alternates that I’d like to point at.
Look at the Masyn Winn jersey below. The piping on the chest appears to be actual braid that has been stitched onto the jersey. But the sleeves have these weird extensions at the end of the sleeve, and fake red piping that looks printed on. How cheap is that? And how disgustingly noticeable too! I’ve noticed other teams have new ugly sleeve piping this way because of the new Nike template, and we’re no exception.
Another weird quirk is the front number has perforated dots in it. This is something that Uni-Watch had been reporting on before season started, and that some teams had perforated front numbers, and others didn’t. I don’t seem to remember the Cardinals home uniforms this season having the perforations, but now these do. Weird.
Scroll down to see a couple zoomed in shots of what I’m talking about, and some on field screenshots from last night’s game.
