This year the Whitey Herzog memorial patch being worn is not an embroidered/stitched patch, it’s an iron piece of synthetic material. Each patch is supposed to be color coded to match the jersey fabric, but I’ve been noticing that the gray version on the road uniforms shows up a lot brighter and shinier than the jersey fabric as seen on TV. Is this because of the new material and application? See image below.
