Cardinals Wear Patch for Lou Gehrig Day

Yesterday the Cardinals, along with every team in MLB, wore patches on their chest for Lou Gehrig Day. This year the patch was a simple navy circle with a block font 4 inside. Check it out.

And here is a couple shots of the Cardinals wearing it in the game last night.

What should be unsurprising after many years of MLB doing this sort of thing, the patch is dissimilar from the Lou Gehrig Logo that MLB is pushing on their website. See logo below.

It should also be noted the history of this logo and patch. In 2021 they used a different logo which was also used identically as the patch on the uniform. However, in 2022 they changed out the patch for a simple circle logo, but continued to use the Lou Gehrig batter logo for graphical purposes. This year there is a new logo and a new patch. See older designs below, and we didn’t mention the rectangular blue 4•ALS patch used in past years on Independence Day.
