Cardinals Wear Player’s Weekend cap patches

In last night’s game the Cardinals wore patches on the sides of their caps for player’s weekend, and presumably will wear the patches all weekend.

The patches are the same as last year, they show the player’s number rendered in a specialized number set. Here’s what MLB’s official language says describing the promotion…

Brand Rationale:
2025 Players’ Weekend will be a media-first event for players to showcase their off-field interests, personalities, and show their appreciation for both their fans and chosen causes. players will be encouraged to show their creativity via custom cleats, bats, and ancillary content. Each day of this three day event will feature a theme to focus on these narratives:
– Friday: Fun
– Saturday: Causes
– Sunday: Fan Appreciation

Mixed Numbers
The mixed numbersets give a youthful attitude to the invent will conveying a sense of customization.

Graphic Takeover
The “sticker-slap” aesthetic reinforces the idea that this day is all about the players. They’re taking over the event with their personality and we’re showcasing it to the fans.

This promotion has been going on for many years now, and it used to feature very different uniforms, see here for more Player’s Weekend Uniforms.
