It is officially winter. The new 2025 database page is now live, you can check it out at the link below, and there will be more links to pages at the bottom of this post!

This season there was some notable changes. After the players, the fans, and the media all eviscerated Nike and Fanatics for their gargantuan fuckup from 2024, the aforementioned uniform manufacturers made some fixes to the 2025 uniforms.
First, the Names on Back of the uniforms returned to taller and more visible lettering. However the City Connect uniform continued to use the small letters with more radical arching. Nike probably has an excuse about the tiny letters being a design choice, but we still noticed and still don’t like it.
In regards to the changing of lettering on the uniforms, the numbers also changed. The front numbers returned to the squattier style numbers, all except for the City Connect uniform. This one is more curious than the lettering, because for many years, the front number and the back number have seldom matched, except for 2024. Now in 2025 they go back to the mismatched numbers, except for the City Connect uniform which has matching style numbers on the front and back. You can really see it in the picture above, and you can read more about Cardinals Front Numbers here. You can read about the Old vs New lettering here and here. You can read about the City Connect small letters here.
The Cardinals road uniform this season eliminated the little sun collar bit that can still be seen on the home uniforms. The little sun collar thing was part of Nike’s new uniform templates, and again it was not well received by the baseball community. So this year the road gray uniforms were changed to plain collars. However the home, alternate home, and alternate road all still had the sun collar on it. I don’t like the little collar bit, I think the road uniform is a move in the right direction. Read more about the Sun Collars here and here. We will see if next season the sun collars are removed from the rest of our uniforms.
And of course, MLB and their manufacturing affiliates rolled out all of the merchandise for special occasion games. This merchandise includes the Hall of Fame contrivance bird, which I’m never going to be happy about until they use something authentic. Read more about that here.
That’s a wrap.. Check out some links to peruse during your hibernation.
