In 1932 the Cardinals brought back numbers, this time wearing them on the back of the jersey. Most National League and American League teams began wearing numbers on the shirt back in 1931 or 1932, with the Cleveland Indians being the first in 1929. Other than the addition of uniform numbers, the Cardinals continued wearing the exact same uniforms from the 1931 World Series.
