July 2, 2011 the Cardinals wore 1953 throwbacks. It is important to note that the STL emblem worn on the cap for these throwbacks is not accurate and does not represent the STL emblem worn by the Cardinals in 1953. This particular STL logo was used by MLB for many years to represent 1940s and 1950s Cardinals, but it is not an authentic recreation.
