Throughout the years the Cardinals have worn St. Louis Stars inspired uniforms paying homage to the Negro Leagues. It is important to note that these uniforms use inspiration and elements from Stars uniforms, but do not fully reflect what the Stars actually wore, mainly the STL emblem on the cap. Photography shows the Stars only wore a cap emblem in a small number of seasons. The STL we see worn on these throwbacks is a modern contrivance, and is font called Windsor. Please see historical photography below.

This cap is in the collection at the Baseball Hall of Fame at Cooperstown. It is labeled as a cap worn by Cool Papa Bell, however we have no known photography that shows the Stars wore this cap.
